      TECHPoints

In cities and villages around the world, Internet access remains a difficult and expensive proposition. Computer training is also inadequate or inaccessible. People will ride busses for hours to reach cyber cafés and pay inordinate amounts of money just to check their email on a weekly basis.

TECHPoints is designed to allow a mission to meet these needs of the community much the same way they currently work to meet their medical or social needs.

Each T.E.C.H. Point would consist of a local, scalable network of computers linked to server which can be used for a variety of functions: Internet access, computer training, ESL courses, distance education, and more. This T.E.C.H. Point would be a hub of communication, outreach, access and education for the mission.

By meeting these technology needs, the mission could realize several important benefits:

  • New contacts and study opportunities
  • Establishment of long-term relationships
  • Significant community goodwill
  • Attraction of middle-class and young professional seekers
  • Spiritual life improvement with increased Bible study
  • Economic improvement for students through computer skills acquisition
  • Possibly self-sufficient or even making money to support the mission

The components of TECHPoints are:

  • Technology
  • Evangelism
  • Communication
  • Hope

TECHPoints exists to help Christian missions around the world use technology to enhance communication, facilitate evangelism, and foster hope.
